Without dissent the Senate gave final approval Wednesday to legislation that would make bestiality a felony. Offenders could be sentenced to up to a year in state prison.

well.. I for one was expecting this.. I would be surprised if anyone else that lives here didnt expect it... this would be why I will never post my face on this forum...

I know many of you would like to be able to be open about this part of your life.. but I would suggest you do this behind your closed doors.. even if there is no law in your neck of the woods...

no matter how much we show people that we are not animal abusers.. it will continue to be so in their eyes... this is a fact of life we all have to deal with... whether we like it or not :dots:

Unfortunately, I don't think it has much to do with hurting animals or viewing us as animal abusers. Basically, I think people are just so disgusted by the notion they outlaw. It's not the first time, and won't be the last time laws are passed based on personal comfortability...

i'm sorry to see this post. it is unfortunate that people like this senator still have their heads buried DEEPLY in their ass with no way of getting them out.

What difference does it make if its legal or not legal? Its not going to change people behaviour one bit. People who have had sex with critters before the law went into effect, will continue to do so. I live in a state where its never been legal and I could care less. What you do in the privacy of your own home (or barn in my case) is YOUR business. Its these careless individuals who fence hop and get caught or do something that hurts somebody elses critters who the cops are targeting.

Well that's just great... arizona was on the top of my list on where i planned to move to in a few years.. maybe not now. I know that it seems like it doesnt matter since we have to be quiet about our lives anyway, but the fact that you could be facing a year now because someone happened to see through your window (or barn in some cases) really really sucks. you KNOW this was brought on by the the fence hoppers. i have a relative in arizona and when i went to visit a year ago they were having a big problem with a guy who was entering peoples barns at night and raping the horses in the area. I cant help but feel that if more people had self control with their urges there wouldnt be such a push for laws like this. everytime i hear something on tv about someone being arrested for having sex with an animal its always a fence hopper who was caught in the act not someone caught with their own animals

Like most reactions of theses in power. they go into overkill if it may gain them one or two votes. It is the small percentage of the population that do the wrong thing and bring down the wrath of the self-richeous on all of us.
