I have been thinking about this forever and I figured I would go ahead with some things with my dog. I am kind of worried about diseases and infections though...If there are any other women out there with the same sort of concerns or any answers please contact me. Also if you live near New Jersey that would be great!
Thanks all! sorry i just saw another post saying i should have posted this in another area. I will repost it there when I can. This post has been edited by lostgrl on Dec 1 2005, 02:29 PM |

Hi. I hope I can help put some of your concerns to rest. I have been an active zoo for several years now, and have done some research into inter-species transmission of disease, mostly for my own peace of mind. Most canine diseases are not tranmittable to humans. There is the rare exception such as rabies, but as long as your dog is healthy and has had his shots, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Also canines are not suseptible to human STD's. It is possible however for them to transmit STD's such as gonorrea and syphilis if they have had relations with an infected person and then you "share" the animal within a short time. (same as sharing a dildo or vibe with an infected girlfriend) A few serious illnesses, such as cholera, amoebic dysentary and some parasites, can be carried in a dog's feces. As long as your dog is clean, and you refrain from oral/anal contact with him you will be safe. My recomendation is to never never fool around with strays, have your dog cared for by a veternarian on a regular basis (as any competent pet owner would) and dont share your lovers with other people you don't know well. I hope I have helped. --Bekka

From a males viewpoint, parasites are the worst things that you need to be concerned about. Be sure to have your dog protected by taking him to a vet an having him checked out first! This is the most important thing to do. After the vet assures you that he is parasite free, you can have the time of your life! Other then the vet, do not let your dog eat anything that is or has been on the ground. Very important! Keep him away from other dogs because dogs can transmit parisites to each other easily. Above all, keep him away from strays! I would even go as far as to say that fixing him his meals from your food is best! I would not feed him dog food, can or dried, unless it is one that a vet recommends. Dog food is not USDA approved, so you don't know what he is eating. Have fun! :D  ;) Just don't be too hard on yourself for not having sex with your dog sooner. |
