The Free Area gets jipped once in a while by showing topics that have limited content, be it lack of data or banned people. Is it not possible to add a filter to the database that alerts the random generator to disregard certain topics?

I gotta say the only reason I'm bringing this up was of pure irony. Today of all days, I'm seeing a topic that I posted 3 years ago, one that wasn't intended to share but ask a question, served its purpose, and as far as I care could have been deleted as time went by.

Another listing today was "Unknown Animal (for Me) + Woman - uploaded by montone" and when trying to view it lists You do not have permission to view this topic .

Oh I know, theres about 25 items listed to aid in a balanced output. And to spike interest in topics that have been long forgotten. But I think that there are some topics out there we can openly agree didn't live up to expectations.

I don't know the mechanics  but I assume that the randomizer just "Select * From Topics Where Category Is __OR __ OR __." Add in a boolean field for TFA and the select line "AND TFA Is Yes" (or whatever). Spice in a option for moderators to adjust that field and there ya go. :nerd: *turns off nerd mode*

Just a thought :whistling:

 It seems as though you haven't abused your ISP with uploading content nor worn out your keyboard posting text, Yet you find yourself justified in bitching because out of 25 free thread's you find a dud now and then..

In my opinion lecher's have no right to complain and especially no input into how the forum is run.. 5 years membership and 12 post, one of which is this one... If I were you I would be ashamed of myself for creating this topic..

Deer

Sorry then, Deerhunter.

But in my defense I did not come in demanding such a change, I just made a suggestion and pointed some techniques as to how it could be implemented.

No, I'm not aware of the day to day operations, but I do understand even if alterations would have been considered, it would take hours to implement the necessary changes to the database structure and the php board files in order to allow a functional interface, not only influencing the forum_topic table but _posts _users _security (forgive specific wording I don't remember what ipboard uses for syntax these days) and others I'm sure. I work with websites and programming languages, giving these sort of thoughts are just what I do.

I was not trying to be "bitchy" or "complain", I just tried to give some constructive criticism. If the original topic is moot I understand, but this really isn't the place for such a conversation. If you wish to talk more feel free to send me a PM.

*Edited for spelling*
