Are you asking how to know which stories in the section are new? The ones with most recent replies are at the top of the page. If you want to know if the stories are new to you, as in you haven't read them yet, that's easy: just say thanks in the thread and you'll know that you have read that one already because the message icon will have a dot in the middle to show that you have replied.

Missy is correct, also the ones with the fewest replies and views also tend to be the newer stories

Another thing to keep in mind though is that even though you have replied in that thread the author may have posted additional chapters after you originally posted. So occasionally revisiting favorite stories will reward you with updates, just a thought.

The best stories are the ones with the most replies, due to members reading it over and over. :D :devil2:

I've found that the easiest way for me to know when an author updates their story is to subscribe to the topic. Yes, I get an email for each reply that is posted, but they are easy to delete and it enables me to make certain that I don't miss any story updates. I also don't have to try to figure out which stories I have to check as I receive a message from all subscribed topics in one place. This also works well for prolific photo and clip posters - I always know when they've posted more material for my viewing pleasure. :D |

Good point, although if a thread is inactive a couple of weeks it drops off your list. As an "occasional author" sometimes it is that long and longer to write a chapter, edit it and get it posted.
