I was looking at another topic, and it made me wonder about something else that I didn't find when I did a search...

I have no doubt that it has been asked before, I just couldn't find the same words that were used last time.
----------------------

For those that have: two or more of the same type of animal, have both sexes of the animals, and have relations with both...

Being male, even after years, it bothers me when my male dog mounts my female dog. I still think of her as mine only. I have had no problem in getting the puppies good homes. Its easy to block the mating when puppies are not desired. When she is not in season, there is no real harm in letting him have access to her after I have had a 'session'. They are of the same breed, both have papers, and both are well cared for. I have no fear that he will ever be preferred over me, he gets his business done and could care less for how much fun she had.

I can't be sure if its because he doesn't care if she enjoys it? Is it some primal level instinct on my part to not share my mate, its not like I'm going to father puppies with her. When I did let her have puppies, I feel she thinks I was the father.

I just find it fascinating, that I would have a problem with him doing it to my girl. Sharing her just rubs me the wrong way, it's a background feeling but it does exist. Does anyone else ever get the same feeling?

I can see why this sort of possessive behavior would develop: you feel deeply and emotionally invested in your girl, among other things. In our society we're more or less led to believe that having sex is the ultimate display of trust and affection, and when you see your boy thoughtlessly walk away after finishing his brief job probably makes you feel cheated, as if your hard work was for nothing.

That's my perception of it, anyhow.

You really need to take a step back and look at this more clearly. Your female dog doesn't understand the concept of romantic love. She isn't cheating on you  I hope you realize that your dogs are not human beings. To expect them to act like people isn't logical.

So if your becoming jealous over two dogs mating, perhaps you need to rethink things.

In the canine world there is the pack starting with the alpha male ruling everything, while we humans tend to prat ice monogamy. As silkythighs said, it would be better if you were to step back and have a good think about your feelings which sound to me like you are jealousy?

Well KJ, it not unusual for you to feel possessive about your female. Its called jealousy. Having a "hotwife" or our cases a "hotbitch" takes a special kind of mind set. A getting there can take work. I think you need to get straight in your head the kind of pack you want in your house.

Thanks for your voices, rereading my message makes it sound more intense then it is. As a family, we have ‘fun’ together. It was just something I noticed, with me, in the background of my mind, more specific when the male has a session without me.

I’m guessing the word is: Jealous, I’m not going to stop him and it is more of a turn on then a turn off. When he gets one in and I can’t be a part of it, I’m usually tied up with something, like fixing a fence line, working on the tractor, etc. Maybe I’m jealous of him having the freedom that I lack on those times.

When I haul some of the cows in for selective breeding the same background feeling is not there – at all. Both the dogs and the cows are performing ‘sex acts’ one I feel for, the other is just an annual task.

I just wondered if anyone else knew of what I’m saying/asking.
