Yall ever wonder exactly what an animal is thinking? Like cows they stand in a pasture all day and eat grass. They have to be thinking about something such as man this grass is great I am going to eat some more or man my life sucks. Because as living and breathing creatures they create conscience thought just a thought from my brain because I wonder these things sometimes

Ok, I have to bring up what I saw on Mind of mencia the other day...

Ever wonder why we eat cow and chicken more than other animals?

Because back a few thousand years ago, a dude with a rock wanted to eat, and a cow and horse were standing right next to each other. The horse ran like hell and survived, the cow moo'd and got knocked silly.
Likewise... the chickens dont fly, what kind of bird is stupid enough to not fly? Kinda ruins the point of feathers.

Just thought it was funny =)

Honestly, I dont think much of anything runs through a cow's head, they really are very simple animals. Eat, sleep, crap... that's all they do. Oh, and occasionally try to make more cows =P

Wellthey may be thinking,"why d those two legged animals have such awfull looking fur?" (clothes). In my opinion,it's more instinct than directed intelligent thinking. altho one has to wonder sometimes when you see how some animals make fools of us

True True our pride in thinking we are most advanced can lead to our fall they are smarter than most people give them credit for and they know what they want...To know what you want you can't run off of instinct you must have a thought then the desire ;) only one could still wonder. But yeah cows are very simple animals but they must have some thought thats the reason i don't really have any sexual desire for them they're just to simple for me, but dogs now  and horses Love that this thread is making it somewhere

I have to agree with 'energydog', I think my dog thinks: OH BOY, OH BOY, OH BOY.

As for cows I hope they are thinking, "I hope the person enjoys steak, this grass is boring to eat eveyday."

Ever been around a group of boys [human]? All they think is boobies, boobies, boobies.

As for the cow, he is probably so happy eatting grass all day with a nice fence around him to keep animals with teeth and claws out. He is a cow after all...use to looking for food and trying not to get eaten...not human with human thoughts about how doing nothing but eatting the same grass in the same field all day every day would be boring

Very interesting topic and one that has led to interesting debate over the centuries. The question of what animals think has been on man's mind ever since he began to relate to animals tens of thousands of years ago. I think certain animals have very basic simple thoughts, while animals like dogs and horses can often surprise us with their inttelligence and problem solving ability. Sometimes we are also surprised by what our animals think to do when we are in trouble and need their help.

Unfortunately it was the belief of the leading scientists and philosophers of the 17th through the 19th centuries that animals didn't think, and anything they did they were programmed to do genetically. This was further sanctioned by the church who didn't really want to beleve that animals had souls and could enter heaven.

It is a question that I really wish could be answered sometimes, because often I wondered what Blazer my guide dog was thinking, or Shadoe, my first real canine lover. of course, sometimes by their actions I could figure out what they were thinking and both Blazer and Shadoe did their best to communicate their thoughts to me as best they could. One day for example I was at my friend Gloria's place, and she and a friend had just re-apolstered her couch, and Blazer wasn't sure whether he was allowed to get up on it or not. So he bumped my arm with his nose to get my attention, then he pointed right at the couch with his nose, and then he made an "Ummmm" sound which even rose in pitch just like a question. It was really amazing to me that he figured out how to ask me this question and even Gloria was aware that there was something he was asking us. Incidentally, she told me that her own dog Tina used the couch all the time, so yes, Blazer could get up on it. Thanks so much for bringing up this topic thread. I think it's a very interesting one.
:)

I guess we'll never find out what they are thinking about us^^. Maybe it's more or even less than we expect them.

Thank you shy I am completely against the church and "their thoughts" of animals not having souls....of course this is the same church that burned tons of people for not converting to their religion and the same ones who banned galileos book when he found out the earth revolved around the sun not the earth was the center of the universe so a lot for the church.... I believe what i believe and stand firm in that  and mrs.k9c that sounds very sexy of your dog he knows what he wants. See what i have pondered lately is that if a male dog humps isnt that consenting for sex with actions instead of words i mean females do too but males we gotta start somewhere with society accepting us and loop holes thats how people got tax rebate checks for their hummers they classified it as farm equipment....whats wrong with our damned government?
