I Got A Puppy!, advice please?

I got a new puppy last month. He is now 5 1/2 months old. a Great Pyrenese. He licks nicley, shows a LOT of intrest. I just don't know at what age to let him try to mount... should I try to find someone to "help me/him" the first time?

That's a little young for a large breed.
Right now I'd do a lot of playig with him.
Possibly laying on something, and have him lay between your legs and on your tummy.
That way you can pet him and talk to him and make him feel comfortable laying on you. (Oh Yea! Rub the ears.. oooo god that's so good.. Huh? oh sorry. :blink: )
So when you two do finally do it, he'll stay and not hop off right away.
You may still be a good year away before you get any serous sex out of him.
I have a female Great Dane who is a year old now, and I'm probably a good six months away from doing anything with her.

First, congrats on your first dog my lady!
He is still a puppy, remember that all puppys are playful -- and - -will nip -- the area of the nip could be rather painful!
Best to wait for at least a year -- and than - - play cool - - try to find the dog's "pace" - -

Just get to know eachother, play alot, and make sure he is okay with you touching him everywhere (nothing sexual until he is older). If you love him and are his friend then when he is ready he will show you a great time.

Yes, we are best of friends... he's so attached to me already. I just love his quiet demeaner, how he lays his head in my lap and just looks up at me adoringly... :) Doesn't get much sweeter than that (yet anyways)

Any other suggestions?
