I think its completely possible to actually fall in love with an animal like it was a human. I have a sexual and close friendship with my dog but I dont really think its love yet. Plus, its the family dog and Im making plans to leave so I wouldnt want it to get that serious with her personally. The only reason why it never reached that point is because we cant spend the amount of time with each other that we want.. and the fact that we never had actual intercourse because shes a virgin and I was never able to fit inside her and I dont want to hurt her.. Although I must admit it would be quite nice if I could get in there :)

Also, today we were making out.. if you dont get how that works ill explain lol.. Anyway we were going at it like that and I started to notice that my upper lip began to feel irritated.. eventually to the point of pain. Just now I ate some hotdogs with mustard and I got a burning sensation when it touched my lip. This hasnt ever happened before is it something I should worry about?

Yes , you can fell inlove whit an animal ...i say that because i did felt inlove whit my mare,my beautiful Stela and this is no just fancy statement...i truly did..

In fact , i love her more that any human in my life , and i'm ready to sacrifice all it needs for her , wether friends, or family responsabilities, even my own integrity ...

Some told me , my love for her closes obsession , because of my constant worries for her ,and my constant and often irationale struggle to at least try to give her a good life...

But it is wrong to try to give everything , and beyond for the one you love , even if she is a mare ?I think not...

I  Stela

Not only do I believe it's possible - I actually can't believe I'd ever fall as completely in love with a person as I do my dogs.

As for the irritation on the lip, is it from abrasion by your girl's tongue? I sometimes have to limit my sessions with my husky girl when she's getting really passionate or she'll lick the inside of my lip raw

I was thinking that was probably what was going on but I just wanted to make sure. Good thing that she knows to make her tongue all mucousy and smooth when giving me oral :)

I agree, there's no doubt that people can fall in love with animals. It was my emotional relationship with a canine friend a couple years back which, when looking back on it, eventually made me realize I was a zoophile. I always felt that it was a very strong emotional/romantic bond, not at all a sexual one. Often times when I dwell on this, I'll really begin to notice this empty feeling, really missing having my old canine friend as a companion.

As for the lip problem, sounds like normal dryness to me. Sometimes on days when I'm particularly nervous or focused on something, I'll lick my lips a lot, and they get dry very quickly. It's not the moisture that you have on your lips, it's the dryness left behind when the moisture evaporates, which causes your lips to dry out. If they get too dry, they'll crack or split, which can sting if acidic foods come in contact with it.

I totally second your decision on not making love to her because you don't want to hurt her. This is very reasonable and thoughful for your animal!

As for the lip problem, I've had that as well, same situation. ;-) This is because she just licked you raw, my friend. Happens, and it just takes 2-3 days for it to heal. Just don't irritate it more by licking it all of the time.

Of course a human can fall in love with an animal.
Only question left is eros, philia or agape (check wikipedia under 'greek words for love' for explanations)?

The two languages I know (english and german) are so limited sometimes.

Yes a person can fall in love with their animal, I had a male sheltie that went everywhere with me and knew over 200 words , He was very smart, when he died I was very depressed for a long time.

No, I haven't...

Except my cat, as a friend.

But I hope that one day, I will.

Well I dunno about that.. My understanding is that zoophilia is your sexual attraction towards animals, which doesnt necessarily include falling in love. I was with my bitch today and I kissed her on the nose and gazed into her eyes and I realized at that moment that I think Ive fallen for her.. I didnt want this to happen because when I find a new place I wont be able to bring her with me so it will be emotionally harder to get over.. Ill do what I can

Ya, it's all semantics, and there are lots of threads on this in here, but I considered myself a zoophile (I recognized my ability to fall in love with an animal) before I actually did. And did I...

You actually can fall in love..it has happened to me, too. But I have to say sometimes I still consider weird what I feel. I never thought that these feelings can get that strong. I never felt such a thing for a human..
As for the lip thing it happens rather often when the dog really gets passionate..it's the only thing which keeps you from kissing for hours^^

Hmm... I have cried more for my animals than for any person I have ever lost in my life...

I know I love my animals, and not simply as "pets."
